The 9th Agriculture and Livestock Fair, in which MAKÜ also participated, has opened.

Burdur 9th Agriculture and Livestock Fair opened its doors to visitors. While all institutions and organizations in the city supported the fair opened at Burdur Covered Market Place, farm equipment technologies for large and small livestock, the latest innovations in the field of genetics, and developments in the feed sector were also showcased.
The fair was attended by the President of the Union of Chambers of Agriculture Şemsi Bayraktar, Burdur Governor Türker Öksüz, Burdur Mayor Ali Orkun Ercengiz, MAKÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar, Burdur Chamber of Agriculture President Kemal Kubilay, Burdur Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Yusuf Keyik, Burdur Commodity Exchange President Ömer Faruk Gündüzalp, union and chamber presidents, and citizens.
At the fair opening, Burdur Chamber of Agriculture President Kemal Kubilay, Commodity Exchange President Ömer Faruk Gündüzalp, Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Yusuf Keyik, Mayor Ali Orkun Ercengiz, MAKÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar, Union of Chambers of Agriculture President Şemsi Bayraktar, and Governor Türker Öksüz each gave a speech wishing the fair to be beneficial for Burdur and our country.
Pioneering Steps in Dairy Cattle Breeding and Embryo Transfer from MAKÜ
In his speech, Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar mentioned the university's work and projects in the field of agriculture and livestock.
In his speech, Rector Dalgar emphasized that the university has been a specialized university in the field of livestock for 5 years, that they visited 180 villages in this field over 5 years, giving informative conferences by the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine lecturers, and that MAKÜ is the first and only university approved by the Turkish Accreditation Agency in the certification program for dairy cattle enterprises.
Speaking about the Embryo Transfer Center, Rector Dalgar stated that MAKÜ is one of the two institutions in Turkey authorized for embryo transfer and that they produce domestic embryos as MAKÜ. Explaining the farm monitoring system, Rector Dalgar said, “Our farm certification system project has turned into a policy of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.” He mentioned that water scarcity is a problem for the country and that the university's professors are working on producing plants that consume less water.
After the speeches, the stands were visited at the fair, which was opened following the ribbon cutting.
