Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Agriculture, Livestock and Food Research Application and Research Center – known to the public as MAKÜ Farm – continues to undertake studies that guide Turkish livestock farming.
Previously, the center, which introduced 5 superior quality bulls to the artificial insemination sector through embryo transfer studies conducted within MAKÜ GETEM, had created a significant widespread impact by enabling the use of approximately 400 thousand doses of frozen semen obtained from these bulls nationwide.
This time, 4 new champion bulls with high TPI, obtained using advanced reproductive biotechnologies like embryo transfer, have been introduced to the artificial insemination sector. These bulls with high genetic potential will be used in the production of frozen semen by both Breeding Cattle Breeders' Associations and private sector bull stations.
Additionally, small-scale enterprises can obtain male breeding animals from MAKÜ Farm by filling out the "Breeding Animal Request Form" at the specified web address. (https://thg.mehmetakif.edu.tr/duyuru/14220/damizlik-hayvan-alim-basvuru-formu)
These efforts by MAKÜ provide significant contributions to local and national animal breeding programs across the country, while also leading efforts to increase productivity in animal production.
